Duck trays fly off the shelves

These cost effective Sharpak duck trays are flying off the shelves in all the UK's major supermarket.

Sharp Interpack has launched a new range of top seal high flying legs, breast and mini fillet cut trays for duck. The C4-38, 50 & 60 in 60% recycled PET/PE represents a technical and commercial breakthrough offering improved heat seal performance designed for enhanced processing/packing speeds and substantially reduced leak rates, through drip, compared with mono polyester.

The trays are available in various colours especially designed for outstanding identity and shelf presence.

The new range has been purposely created for the rigours of today's packing and processing systems and for the future advances that will occur in the development of even more demanding processes. The trays have changed to ribbed fluted sides giving excellent rigidity and impact strength to withstand the most challenging in-transit and packhouse environments.

Most major supermarkets in the UK have not wasted any time in stocking these 'C' cut high fliers.

The new trays are available with Sharplok + offering increased reservoir capacity over the original Sharplok first introduced in 2003. This allows for the elimination of absorbent  drip pads and therefore the automatic reduction in packaging material.

Nathan Gannaway, Applications and Technical Sales Manager commented: 'These trays are a technical and commercial breakthrough - they are the culmination of material analysis working in cooperation with Flextrus to deliver Ecobar 3, OPET/PE, high barrier, anti-fog, tray lidding laminate and an in-depth understanding of our customer needs - they address a number of outstanding technical requirements, offering a padless solution, where product drip levels allow, with consequential cost savings. We are delighted that all the major supermarket buyers have confidence in them'.
