Economics drive poultry sales

There is little doubt that economic conditions are driving sales in the poultry sector - the cheapest white meat, once a seasonal Christmas and Easter delicacy, has now become the choice of Europe.

Spain is no exception. The rigors of belt tightening is resulting in a rapidly expanding poultry market. Sharpak is busy supplying major supermarkets in Spain with key food processors such as Uvesa, Florida and Avimosa supporting that drive. Sharpak continues to be preferred by the retailers and packers as recognised lead manufacturers in the elimination of soak pads with Sharplok as an integral feature in the base of the trays. The padless trays were an innovation from Sharpak first introduced in the UK in 2003.

When it comes to innovation, environmental good practice and pioneering new materials Sharpak lead the field. The company is breaking new ground in Spain offering a broad and exciting new    range.

For instance there is a growing requirement in Spain for meat ball trays. Sharpak supplies the market with D2 and D18 cut sizes with a meat processor specifically requesting the distinctive orange trays to address the demands of Mercadona one of the leading retailers now enthusistically converting to rigid trays.
