The name Sharpak has been synonymous with fresh produce packaging for 50 years - based in Aylesham they have long been recognised as pre-eminent suppliers of packaging for the Industry. Through good and bad times Sharpak has been there reliably supporting the market when others fall short.

A philosophy of continual investment and improvement have long been recognised hallmarks for Sharpak maintaining market leadership. And now, with a substantial investment in new machinery and systems through its new owners Groupe Guillin, improving efficiency and customer experience the company is well placed to ensure continued and sustained growth in its markets into 2012 and beyond.

The benefit of an unparalleled range of products for the fresh produce market through European-wide Groupe Guillin is already finding favour with many of its customers who see the advantage of buying under one roof. Working in close cooperation with its sister companies in the Group, Sharpak can supply an even larger and more comprehensive portfolio for soft, top, stone and exotic fruits packaging in either PET, PP or PS alongside its own range of PET products.
As the market continues to shift and expand in expectations and favoured materials, environmental concerns continue to concentrate the minds of packaging manufacturers, price, product freshness, packaging innovation and green credentials remain the key drivers.
Sharpak's own new products include an even larger range of SPS punnets in 6 depths including a 56mm depth first developed through a fast turnaround for a major supermarket promotion. The same profiles are also available in the SPS Air range with the sloping vents in the base improving air flow even when the punnets are stacked.
More recent introductions include a 600g strawberry punnet meeting customer demand for lidding or heatsealing

Created by its sister company, Nespak, Sharpak is now offering a c-LOW (carbon low) polypropylene material in some of the vegetable, stone and top fruit packaging that offers a significantly lower carbon footprint than any packaging currently on the market. c-LOW harnesses nature's natural resources by combining a substantial mineral filler and an approved recyclate. This low carbon material represents a major breakthrough in fruit and vegetable packaging and is part of a larger investment programme of materials research working towards the lowest carbon footprint, zero landfill and 100% recycling.
